Liz Miles has written numerous books for children and teens. Her fiction and non-fiction titles have been published around the world, including the UK, the US, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Pakistan, and Singapore. She is a passionate supporter of equal rights, and has developed many imaginative materials towards advancing children’s literacy and comprehension skills – believing that intelligent reading and writing are vital for self-empowerment and free thought.
For young adults, her works include Truth & Dare, an anthology of short stories for young adults, in which she, along with new and well-known writers such as A.M. Homes and Emma Donoghue, explores themes like alienation, love and trauma.
For young children, her books range from short stories celebrating the dirty deeds of Mr Slime to dinosaur safaris, time-travel explorations, and myths and legends. For older children, titles include biographies of Carl Linnaeus and Louis Pasteur, guides to humorous poetry and language, and Real Life Issues: Coping with Domestic Violence and Coping with Illness.
In her spare time she reads, explores, and seeks inspiration and ideas for stories in the museums and galleries of London.
