Me

Me

Liz Miles began her career in publishing as an editor, working on international trade books for children, and educational literacy books for major publishers such as Oxford University Press and Heinemann.

On becoming a freelancer in 1990, she began to take on more writing commissions, and has now had over a hundred titles published.

Her works have been published around the world, including the UK, the US, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Pakistan, and Singapore. They include highly illustrated fiction for young readers, levelled texts for schools, graphic texts, and also faction – such as her extremely popular books on dinosaurs.

She is a passionate supporter of equal rights, and has developed many imaginative materials towards advancing children’s literacy and comprehension skills – believing that intelligent reading and writing aid self-empowerment and free thought. The natural world and environmental issues are also at the top of her list of interests.

She lives close to the sea in southwest England.

Work in progress

To keep me focused and inspired while developing a new story, I use photos of places and things that I’ve seen.
